Google Glass review: Is the Explorer Edition worth the price of admission? By: Riham Abuzinadah

In the article I read, the author Matt Swider talks about the invention of the new technology, which is Google glass. Google glass is an emerging technology that uses augmented reality to take photos, video, use GPS, and search in the web for information by utilizing voice commands. These glasses can help users stay connected with the digital world but enjoy real-life moments and stay in tune with the real world at the same time. The glasses are also light, durable, and comfortable, they come in different colors and are very fashionable for the technological world that we are becoming; however, the writer mentions that the glasses do have consequences, they are extremely expensive, and the price ranges from $1500-3000. In addition, he points out that Google Glasses will sooner or later make cell phones; cameras, computers, tablets and GPSs die out because the glasses contain all these elements in one simple technology. This product will ultimately change society because it is new, innovative and presents a product that you do not need to hold in your hand but simply just wear on your face. Our generation’s today move so rapidly with technology that this product will penetrate into the market at a rapid rate and consumers will buy.

Many people said that this technology will not be beneficial in anyway, but it's not finished with no apps. Apps make a smart phone, apps will make Glass. People love the odd and new things, people will learn the ways to know when Glass is doing something, it's just something new to get used to, and once we do get used to it, it shall be something we wouldn't want to live without. Besides, The Google Glass seems quite cool and awesome; however, it can be quite disturbing. For instance, you could be driving your car and suddenly a Google+ Hangout request appears and annoys you and you start to drive dangerously because the call request is in the way of your vision. In addition, some people who already wear glasses that correct vision may prefer if it is an adjustable device that can be attached to their glasses which they wear all the time. Then it would just be a few parts that could be attached to glasses when needed. Furthermore, I think Google's Glass is a fascinating innovation and has more potential than any new device category we have seen in years, but it is very early days and its cost makes it impossibility for most.
