Generally, dealing with a chronic pain and depression are fact in life for millions. A chronic disease is a condition that applies to the human body where he cannot be cured but most likely to be managed or controlled with treatments, or through life-style by following a certain diet. Examples of these chronic diseases include diabetes, Addison's disease, Huntington disease, Celiac disease, and multiple sclerosis or cancer. Mostly, all of people who struggle with any kind of chronic illnesses, suffer with depression. In fact, depression is one of the most common complications of chronic illness. It's estimated that up to one-third of people with a serious medical condition have symptoms of depression. 

So what type of conditions would trigger depression? 

According to an article published by WebMD, (n.d.) any type of diseases would be associated with depression, and females have bigger chances of getting depressed than men. There are many factor as well that could boost depression in human beings. The risk dramatically escalates if someone is known with a history of depression. Moreover, in many cases, depression that is caused by chronic diseases is very probable to make the condition worse. Therefore, combination of chronic illness and depression might lead you to isolate yourself, which is likely to make the depression even worse. Researches showed that almost half of the patients that have been diagnosed with chronic disease confront depression. people who deal with chronic diseases, often assume that the sad feeling is normal and accompanied by this certain disease. However, it could hide an underlying symptoms that need to be treated simultaneously with the disease

Often, early diagnose of depression would ease the distressful feeling generated by depression, and significantly throw away the suicidal thoughts associated with depression. Many studies assert revealed that depression treatment can improve your overall medical condition, a better quality of life, and a greater likelihood of sticking to a long-term treatment plan. For the sake of avoiding depression, patient should not try to isolate himself away from his family and friends. Feed himself intellectually with the information about his condition to response rapidly if any urgent situation occurred, and most importantly, As much as is possible, keep doing the things you like to do. You'll stay connected as well as boost your self-confidence and sense of community.
