Recycling is reusing the old products again or make new products from it and this is one of the good things to our environment. In this way, we decrease the trash that we send it to the landfills to be burned; so, we decrease the air and water pollution and save more energy. For example, aluminum cans takes 500 years to composed; but, when we recycle aluminum, we can return it back in a beneficial form in 2 months and the good thing about it that we can recycle the aluminum many times not just one time. Moreover, we can recycle other materials such as plastic, glass and papers. 

Recycling paper can reduce cutting trees and save our forests and trees. Sunday newspapers every week cuts down 500.000 trees to issue the weekly newspapers and this is not a good indicator. But, here is the fact, if we recycle all the newspapers, we can save more than 250 million trees every year. Moreover, this will decrease the air pollution 70% more than if we make new paper.

Recycling plastic also saves the environment and develops the air quality. Since the plastic takes long time to compose in lands (450 years at least), recycling is the solution. In addition, rid of plastic into water bodies is harmful for the sea creatures and takes more time to compose. One ton of recycled plastic saves 1,000–2,000 gallons of of gasoline that used to produce new plastic.

Finally, recycling glass also plays a role in protecting the environment and save the energy. 4000 years is the time for one bottle of glass to compose and this is such a long time that we can reduce it by recycling glass and the important fact about the glass that it is able to be recycled 100%. Each color can be recycled separately because it keeps the color even after recycling. One glass bottle could save the enough energy to give power to 100-watt bulb for more than 3 hours.

All the facts prove that recycling is a valuable for our environment now or in the long term. Every item we use in our daily life could be recycled even the metal, electronics and textiles and it doesn’t take a lot from us to make it and help our planet and save energy and natural resources like coal, oil and gas from being wasted and reduce the greenhouse gases that cause environmental problems. Everyone can help to protect this planet for the next generations.
